Fairfield to Salisbury Construction

Six stations on Brisbane’s southside- Salisbury, Rocklea, Moorooka, Yeerongpilly, Yeronga, and Fairfield – will will be rebuilt through the Cross River Rail project.

Station upgrades will include new overpasses and passenger lifts, accessible parking bays, new kiss’n’ride spaces, platform improvements and bike enclosures.

Fairfield station construction update - February 2023

On Monday 9 January 2023, Queensland Rail and Translink in collaboration with UNITY Alliance reopened Fairfield station to train services. Construction activities will be ongoing until late 2023. Please note that access to platforms 1 and 2 is via stairs only while construction continues. During February, UNITY Alliance will continue construction of station buildings and platform 3.

During February 2023, UNITY Alliance will continue service relocation works, overpass foundation construction, drainage works and platform construction at Rocklea station.

Fairfield station reopening

Fairfield station reopening

On Monday 9 January 2023, Queensland Rail and Translink in collaboration with UNITY Alliance will reopen Fairfield station to train services. When the station reopens, access to platforms 1 and 2 will be via stairs only while construction continues.

Yeronga station construction update - December 2022 to January 2023

In December, finishing works will continue as construction at Yeronga station nears completion. An extended track closure will occur at Fairfield station and within the rail corridor between Dutton Park and Salisbury stations from 24 December until 2 January. Please note that there will be no construction work 25-26 December, and 1 January.
