Woolloongabba Site Early Works and Construction

The area between Vulture Street and Stanley Street in Woolloongabba, directly adjacent to the Woolloongabba Busway, will become the staging area for the Tunnel Boring Machines (TBMs) and Roadheaders. These TBMs will be used to drill the twin tunnels after which the site will become the location of the new underground Woolloongabba station.

From mid-September 2019, the Cross River Rail Tunnel & Stations contractor will establish a work site at Woolloongabba in preparation for the start of major tunnel and station construction for Cross River Rail.

The Goprint site demolition was completed in February 2018. The site required significant remediation works, including the excavation of significant amounts of soil down to a depth of up to four metres in some instances.
