The Cross River Rail Route

Cross River Rail is a new 10.2 km rail line with 5.9 km of twin tunnels running under the Brisbane River and CBD and four new underground stations at Boggo Road, Woolloongabba, Albert Street and Roma Street.

The project will also deliver a new above ground station at Exhibition and a rebuild for seven suburban stations between Dutton Park and Salisbury, construction of three new stations on the Gold Coast line at Pimpama, Merrimac and Hope Island and new train stabling facilities at Clapham Yard and Mayne Yard, and installation of a new world class signalling system.

A second river crossing

Cross River Rail is a second river crossing at the core of the rail network with capacity to run as many as 24 trains in each direction

Southside Station Upgrades

Cross River Rail will rebuild seven stations in the south of Brisbane – Dutton Park, Fairfield, Yeronga, Yeerongpilly, Moorooka, Rocklea and Salisbury.
