Northern Tunnel Portal Construction

Cross River Rail is a new 10.2-kilometre rail line. It includes 5.9 kilometres of twin tunnels from a southern portal near Dutton Park station under the Brisbane River and the Brisbane CBD.

The northern portal is where trains will enter and exit Cross River Rail’s twin tunnels and is located in the rail corridor at Normanby.

Normanby rail corridor construction update - February and March 2024

During February and March 2024, UNITY Alliance will continue works within the Normanby Rail corridor including track modifications, installation of mast foundations, overhead electrical structures, signalling equipment, cable routes and pits within the rail corridor.

To ensure the ongoing safety of pedestrians into the future, an old timber section of bridge built over the rail corridor at Normanby will be removed.
