Exhibition Construction

A newly upgraded Exhibition Station will provide rail services all year round for one of Brisbane’s fastest growing suburbs.

It will provide improved transport options for the RNA Showgrounds redevelopment and King Street precinct, as well as staff and visitors to Herston Quarter and the Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital.

Current and upcoming activities

Exhibition station construction update - April and May 2024

In April and May 2024 station fit out will continue along with commissioning of track and overhead electrical equipment between Exhibition station and the Normanby rail corridor.

Site establishment Lanham Street, Bowen Hills

From late July 2020, the UNITY Alliance will establish a temporary site facility on Lanham Street. The site will be used as a staging area for future rock excavation activities to widen the eastern side of the rail corridor between O’Connell Terrace and Campbell Street, Bowen Hills.

Works between Roma Street station and Mayne Yard (Bowen Hills)

During July 2020, the UNITY Alliance will continue work within the rail corridor between Roma Street station and the Queensland Rail Mayne Yard stabling facility for construction of the Cross River Rail project.
