Dutton Park to Salisbury Construction

The Cross River Rail Delivery Authority is rebuilding seven stations on Brisbane’s southside between Dutton Park and Salisbury as part of a rolling program of station accessibility upgrades.

These upgrades are part of a wider transformation to expand, improve and modernise South East Queensland’s rail network.

Station upgrades include new overpasses and passenger lifts, accessible parking bays, new kiss’n’ride spaces, platform improvements and bike enclosures.

Stations rebuild progress

The stations at Dutton Park, Fairfield, Yeronga, Yeerongpilly, Rocklea and Salisbury are now reopened, with major construction underway at Moorooka.

Construction update Salisbury station - April 2026

In April 2026, UNITY Alliance will undertake foundation works for the European Train Control System (ETCS) pole and equipment shelter, and continue overhead electrical and signalling works within the Salisbury station rail corridor during a scheduled track possession.

uring April and May 2026, some intermittent finishing works will continue near Kent Street, including minor patching, sealing, concrete repairs and ongoing landscaping maintenance. Work will also continue within the rail corridor during planned track closures, including the installation of overhead electrical structures, signalling equipment, cable routes and drainage installation.

In November 2025, UNITY Alliance will undertake overhead electrical and signalling works within the rail corridor at Rocklea station during scheduled track possessions.

In April and May 2026, UNITY Alliance will continue earthworks, drainage installation, conduit installation, bridge construction, structural steel and wall installation for the Clapham Yard Maintenance Facility, as well as signalling and overhead electrical line works.

During June and July 2025, UNITY Alliance will undertake rail corridor drainage works around the Fairfield station precinct.

Installation of signalling infrastructure – October 2025

Between 6.00am on Saturday 25 October until 6.00pm on Sunday 26 October, excavation and trenching will be undertaken within the rail corridor alongside Gerlee Street, Tennyson. These works are essential to support the future installation of cabling for the new digital signalling system known as the European Train Control System (ETCS).

In April 2026, works will continue adjacent to and within the rail corridor between Yeerongpilly and Moorooka stations.

Moorooka station construction update – April 2026

On Monday 2 March 2026, Moorooka station closed to commuters to allow major construction to commence. The station will be closed until construction completion in late-2027, weather and construction conditions permitting. During April, significant works will be undertaken including the demolition of station buildings and station platforms 1 and 2.
