The Cross River Rail Delivery Authority is constructing three new rail stations on the Gold Coast line to help connect South East Queensland’s growing population. Major construction is underway at the new Pimpama, Hope Island and Merrimac stations.

Throughout July 2024, major construction activities will continue at the Eastern works area (adjacent to Kosciuszko Circuit and Great Sandy Circuit), Western works area (corner of Mebbin Street and Old Pacific Highway), and the main site compound (corner of Mebbin Street and Gainsborough Drive).
In July, civil works will continue within the future Hope Island station work area in Mangrove Jack Park.
Fulton Hogan are commencing major construction activities for Merrimac Station. Throughout July 2024, major construction activities will continue within the eastern and western railway reserves.
Survey and site investigation works are continuing at Merrimac Station throughout November and December 2023. From Tuesday 14 November 2023, site investigations will increase in areas including the rail reserve (eastern railway reserve and western railway reserves), Gooding Drive and the western rail corridor (north of Gooding Drive overpass).
From Monday 25 September 2023, early works are scheduled to commence within the rail corridor adjacent Mangrove Jack Park, Helensvale, in preparation for the new Hope Island station.
Delivery of the new Gold Coast stations is officially underway with contractors now appointed for major works at all three stations.
Over the coming months, early works will increase on the site and surrounding areas, in preparation for major construction to start in 2024. From late July 2023, site investigations will increase in areas including the rail reserve (eastern railway reserve and western railway reserves) and Gooding Drive.
ADCO Constructions are continuing site establishment activities in January 2023. Works will include vegetation removal along Kosciuszko Circuit, Great Sandy Circuit and within the rail corridor.
