New Gold Coast Stations Construction

Cross River Rail will transform the way we travel across all of South East Queensland and has been asked to assist with delivery of three new rail stations on the Gold Coast Line to help connect South East Queensland’s growing population. Stations are being planned for Pimpama, Hope Island and Merrimac.

Delivery of the New Gold Coast Stations is being undertaken as a rolling program of works. Major construction is now underway at Pimpama and procurement activities for contractors to finalise designs and construct for Hope Island and Merrimac is ongoing.

Pimpama station construction update - June 2023

Construction of the new Pimpama station access road is ongoing with drainage and asphalt works continuing along the Old Pacific Highway between Pimpama Jacobs Well Road and Mebbin Street. The site office compound has been relocated to the corner of the Old Pacific Highway and Pimpama Jacobs Well Road.

Hope Island station – Site Investigations

From Tuesday 11 April 2023, site investigations are scheduled to commence in Mangrove Jack Park and along Hope Island Road, Helensvale, in preparation for the new Hope Island Station.

Geotechnical investigations – Merrimac station

On Monday 27 February 2023, geotechnical investigations will be carried out on the eastern side of the rail corridor, within proximity of the new Merrimac Station site. These investigations will be used to further refine the station designs.

Pimpama station construction – upcoming works January 2023

ADCO Constructions are continuing site establishment activities in January 2023. Works will include vegetation removal along Kosciuszko Circuit, Great Sandy Circuit and within the rail corridor.
