Cross River Rail is a second rail path under the Brisbane CBD with four new underground stations at Boggo Road, Woolloongabba, Albert Street and Roma Street. It will make journeys to and from Brisbane quicker, and easier for all of us.

From Saturday 21 December 2024 to Sunday 19 January 2025, there will be track closures and travel changes across all train lines to undertake crucial Cross River Rail works.

All lines will be impacted by track closures and major timetable changes at various stages throughout this period. Some express train services will not run.

Please consider your transport options, allow extra travel time and plan ahead to find your best travel option.

Health workers and patients travelling by train will be able to save up to 10 minutes travel time to RBWH. Train customers currently walk up to 15 minutes from either Bowen Hills or Fortitude Valley train stations or spend just as much time hunting for a park. The new Exhibition station will be just a little over 5 minutes’ walk away.

Shoppers, diners, and day trippers travelling by train could save up to 10 minutes heading to Queen Street Mall, Eagle Street Pier or pretty much anywhere in the central CBD, thanks to a new underground train station located at the corner of Albert and Mary Streets, that will also have an exit onto Elizabeth Street.
