Pimpama station will be delivered as part of the Cross River Rail New Gold Coast Stations program.

Current status

Final design of the station has been completed and major construction is progressing both onsite and within the rail corridor.

Major construction for Pimpama is expected to be completed in late 2024, and will be followed by a testing and commissioning phase.

The community will be kept updated of the construction activities, and will be notified well in advance of services commencing at Pimpama station.

Benefits for Pimpama

Pimpama station will provide the local community with greater access to convenient rail services, expanding options for easy travel within the Gold Coast, as well as to Brisbane.

The new Pimpama station will be located along the Old Pacific Highway between Bedford Road and Mebbin Street.

  1. Approximately 380 car parks
  2. Future carpark expansion – provision for approximately another 200 carparks on corner of Mebbin Street and Gainsborough Drive (580 total)
  3. Pedestrian overpass with lifts on each platform (for two-way access)
  4. Ten accessible car parks
  5. 40-bicycle lock-up enclosure
  6. Outdoor bike racks
  7. Lighting and CCTV throughout station and carpark
  8. Bioretention (storm water) basin
