Environmental and Sustainability Policies

The Delivery Authority has prepared Environmental and Sustainability Policies for the Project to ensure the delivery of this significant infrastructure project is undertaken in a sustainable manner while managing our environmental footprint.

These Policies outline our commitment to minimise the impact of our business activities on the environment and to adopt practices that use resources sustainably, while still delivering a resilient public transport system. These commitments are aligned with the State Government Policy and Cross River Rail project objectives to achieve sustainable outcomes and are linked to the environmental and sustainability objectives.

Cross River Rail is targeting a rating of ‘Excellent’ utilising the Infrastructure Sustainability Council of Australia (ISCA) Infrastructure Sustainability (IS) rating tool (Version 1.2) for Design and As Built stages. This rating is to be achieved at the program level and is also to be achieved at the package level for the Tunnel, Stations and Development (TSD) and Rail, Integration and Systems (RIS) packages.
