New Gold Coast Stations Construction

The Cross River Rail Delivery Authority is constructing three new rail stations on the Gold Coast line to help connect South East Queensland’s growing population.

Pimpama station opened on Monday 20 October 2025. Major construction is continuing at the new Hope Island and Merrimac stations.

Finishing works and site reinstatement activities are progressing at Hope Island station, along with testing and commissioning activities in preparation for station opening. Fulton Hogan are commencing major construction activities for Merrimac Station. Throughout February 2026, major construction activities will continue within the eastern and western railway reserves and Gooding Drive.
