Current Status
Moorooka station will close for major construction on Monday 2 March 2026.
Major works at Moorooka station are expected to be finished in late 2027, with the station to reopen to customers once all works and testing and commissioning activities are complete.
The schedule for Moorooka station’s reopening will be confirmed in consultation with Queensland Rail and Translink.

Moorooka station upgrade
Moorooka station is being rebuilt to make it fully accessible and deliver a better transport experience for all customers.
Station features
Features of the Moorooka station upgrade will include:
- A new accessible station entry including shade canopy, seating, drinking foundation and landscaping
- Accessible parking and kiss ‘n’ ride facilities on Ipswich Road
- A new station overpass with a lift and staircase to each platform
- New platform canopies to provide improved weather protection
- New station buildings including ticket office, staff facilities and accessible public toilets
- Secure enclosure for 40 bicycles and outdoor racks
- An additional third platform.
