Major construction has begun
Construction is underway at seventeen worksites across South East Queensland.
With the successful completion of tunnelling in 2021, we now have twin tunnels connecting the project’s northern portal, the four underground stations at Roma Street, Albert Street, Woolloongabba and Boggo Road, through to the southern portal near Dutton Park. Works on the underground stations has shifted to station builds, laying of rail, and mechanical and electrical fitouts.
The rebuild of Exhibition station is underway and the accessibility rebuild works at seven stations on the southside are also progressing with works complete at Yeronga station and continuing at Fairfield, Yeerongpilly, Rocklea and Dutton Park stations.
Mayne Yard North stabling facility is now fully operational with trackwork at Mayne Yard East now underway. Works at Clapham Yard stabling facility are also progressing.
ETCS trackside signal equipment works have continued on the Shorncliffe line as well as the train fitment of the signalling technology at the Redbank facility.
Major construction is underway at the Pimpama, Hope Island and Merrimac stations, as part of three new stations to be built on the Gold Coast.
