Albert Street footpath closures
From late April to early July 2026, the footpath in front of the northern station entrance (Lot 3) will be temporarily closed. These closures are required to support ongoing northern station construction works, including installation of the canopy glass, metal façade cladding, the flood barrier and final paving.
Pedestrian detours will be in place, and access to businesses will be maintained during operating hours.
Work details
Work will involve:
- Use of mobile cranes, elevated work platforms (EWPs), rattle guns and other hand tools. Rattle gun use will be minimised where possible at night.
- Delivery and installation of materials associated with the canopy and façade works.
- Paving works, including saw cutting, hydro excavation, grouting and pressure washing.
Work hours
Work will be carried out during day and night, seven days a week. Work is subject to relevant approvals and suitable weather conditions.
Traffic and pedestrian impacts
- Intermittent night-time closures of the Albert Street footpath in front of Lot 3 site, please refer to map below
- During this work, pedestrians will be detoured to the footpath on the opposite side of Albert Street or via other pedestrian detours as signed
- Access to properties will be maintained throughout the work, and traffic control will be in place to assist
- Additional short-term footpath closures may be required at other times during the day for overhead lifts or deliveries.
