Albert Street footpath closures

The temporary footpath closure in front of the northern station entrance (Lot 3) will remain in place until late August 2026. These closures are required to support ongoing northern station construction works including installation of the flood barrier, metal façade cladding, station signage and final green spine activities.

Pedestrian detours will be in place, and access to businesses will be maintained during operating hours.

Work details

Work will involve:

  • Use of mobile cranes, elevated work platforms (EWPs), rattle guns and other hand tools. Rattle gun use will be minimised where possible at night.
  • Delivery and installation of materials associated with the canopy and façade works.
  • Final green spine activities including paving, installation of street furniture and signage and testing and commissioning.

Work hours

Work will be carried out during day and night, seven days a week. Work is subject to relevant approvals and suitable weather conditions.

Traffic and pedestrian impacts

  • Temporary closure of the Albert Street footpath in front of the Lot 3 site, please refer to map below.
  • Pedestrians will be detoured to the footpath on the opposite side of Albert Street or via other pedestrian detours as signed.
  • Access to properties will be maintained throughout the work, and traffic control will be in place to assist.
  • Additional footpath closures may be required at other times during the day for overhead lifts or deliveries.
