Exhibition station construction update - June and July 2025

Major construction at Exhibition station is now complete and the station will open temporarily for major events at the Brisbane Showgrounds from mid-2025 onwards, including the Ekka in August. Some construction works will continue at Exhibition station until late-2025.

Exhibition station opening for major Brisbane Showground events

Exhibition station will open temporarily for major events at the Brisbane Showgrounds from June-2025 onwards, including the Ekka in August. The station will open for year-round services in line with the start of trains through the new Cross River Rail tunnels, which is expected in 2029.

Site establishment Lanham Street, Bowen Hills

From late July 2020, the UNITY Alliance will establish a temporary site facility on Lanham Street. The site will be used as a staging area for future rock excavation activities to widen the eastern side of the rail corridor between O’Connell Terrace and Campbell Street, Bowen Hills.
