Cross River Rail going big for National Science Week

Cross River Rail has put together a huge program for this year’s National Science Week, running from Saturday 13 August till Sunday 21 August.

A range of free educational activities will be run at the Cross River Rail Experience Centre throughout the week, giving kids the chance to learn about the science behind Queensland’s largest infrastructure project.

We’ve also made a short documentary about some of the artefacts found during construction on Cross River Rail, featuring the Niche Environment and Heritage Associate Dr Kevin Rains.

Students gather around educational activities on a table.

Meanwhile, the next episode of Cross River Rail’s After Dark Online webinar, airing on Thursday 18 August, will see two guest speakers – Cross River Rail Environment and Approvals Advisor Daniel Daye and Dr Rains – discuss the practical applications of science on the project.

Our Science of Tunnelling video will also be shown at the SCINEMA International Science Film Festival on Friday 19 August.
