The new underground station at Woolloongabba is situated in the heart of a precinct undergoing major regeneration. Located between Vulture and Stanley streets, the new station and building will be a clear landmark within the heart of this major event precinct.

Woolloongabba station construction update - October and November 2025

Construction of Woolloongabba station is continuing, with trees planted and other landscaping activities now underway around the station entrances. Inside the station building, works are progressing on key front-of-house areas, including the future ticket office. Service and utility upgrades are also continuing on nearby roads and footpaths, which will require some temporary changes to traffic conditions.

Gibbon Street traffic changes - October 2025

From Tuesday 7 October 2025 for approximately six weeks, a full road closure will be in place at the intersection of Gibbon Street and the Stanley Street service road to install underground services and reinstate the road surface. This work and associated traffic changes will take place continuously during both day and night shifts.

Main Street – temporary footpath and lane closure

From Monday 22 September 2025 for up to two weeks, a footpath and lane closure will be in place on Main Street between Vulture and Stanley streets to enable installation of underground utility services and reinstatement of the footpath and road.
