Woolloongabba Site Construction

The new underground station at Woolloongabba is situated in the heart of a precinct undergoing major regeneration. Located between Vulture and Stanley streets, the new station and building will be a clear landmark within the heart of this major event precinct.

Woolloongabba station construction update - December 2025 and January 2026

Fit out works at Woolloongabba station are underway with the team focusing on the service and utility upgrades on nearby roads and footpaths. Inside the station building, works are progressing on key front-of-house areas, including the future station atrium. The platform has come to life with the installation of lighting. Outside the station construction is also underway to create a tree lined entrance to the station and install the tiled artwork “Mirror Pond”.

UPDATE: Gibbon Street traffic changes

Due to unforeseen conditions, the full road closure at the intersection of Gibbon Street and Stanley Street will be required until early December 2025.

As part of essential utility work required for the new Woolloongabba station, intermittent traffic and pedestrian changes will continue until early 2026 on Main Street between Vulture and Stanley streets.
