Woolloongabba Site Construction

The area between Vulture Street and Stanley Street in Woolloongabba, directly adjacent to the Woolloongabba Busway, was the staging area for the Tunnel Boring Machines (TBMs) and Roadheaders. The TBMs tunneled north from Woolloongabba, breaking through into the station caverns at Albert Street and Roma Street, finally emerging at the northern portal.

Woolloongabba station construction update - June and July 2025

Work inside the Woolloongabba station building is progressing with tiling and permanent lighting installation underway on the platform level. This marks an important step in the internal fit out of the station platform with some sections of the platform already complete. Within the station precinct, earthworks and structural works are underway to construct a new road and covered pedestrian walkway adjacent to the station and current busway station. This will provide an undercover area for the public to wait to be picked up and dropped off at the new Woolloongabba station precinct.
