Utility investigations - Hope Island station

Cross River Rail is transforming the way we travel across all of South East Queensland. The Cross River Rail Delivery Authority is continuing with planning of three new rail stations on the Gold Coast Line to help connect South East Queensland’s growing population. Stations are being planned for Pimpama, Hope Island and Merrimac.

Details of works

From late April 2022 until late May, utility investigations will be undertaken to locate and identify services within proximity of the Hope Island station site, weather permitting. Works will include:

  • Potholing
  • Manhole inspections
  • Ground surveys
  • Temporary traffic changes.

For information regarding these changes, please see the map below.

Area of works

What to expect

Utility investigations assist with identifying and locating utility service lines such as water, electricity and sewer pipes. Small, truck-mounted vacuum excavation equipment will be used to undertake potholing activities.

Works will be undertaken within Mangrove Jack Park and in the road shoulders along Hope Island Road.
During these investigations, traffic controls will be in place along Hope Island Road and residents will see an increase of workers in the area.

The utility investigations are planned in isolation from existing infrastructure, and no service impacts to the local community are anticipated.

Work hours

Works will be undertaken between 7.00am until 5.00pm Monday to Saturday. Works will be reduced during peak hour periods to minimise impacts to motorists.
