Early investigations Pimpama Station
The Cross River Rail Delivery Authority is continuing with planning for three new rail stations on the Gold Coast Line at Pimpama, Hope Island and Merrimac. GHDWoodhead has been engaged to undertake early investigations and prepare the detailed design for construction.
Early investigations are scheduled to commence in December 2020 and will continue throughout 2021. Investigations will include geotechnical works, survey, utility identification and environmental studies including heritage, flora and fauna.
These investigations will be used to further refine the station designs. Further community consultation on the station design will be undertaken in 2021.
Early investigations at the Pimpama station site are planned to commence from Monday 14 December 2020 and will involve:
- Geotechnical investigations using a truck-mounted drill rig.
- Survey and identification of existing utility services using a vacuum excavation truck.
- Temporary traffic changes on the Old Pacific Highway including lane and footpath closures between 7am and 5pm.
Please see map over the page for more details regarding the work areas and traffic changes.
What to expect
Residents will notice an increase in workers and vehicles in the area. Traffic management will be in place to minimise impacts to pedestrians and motorists.
We appreciate your patience while we undertake these works.
Standard work times are 6:30am to 6:30pm Monday to Saturday, however work may occur outside of these hours due to traffic permits and safety requirements.
