Early investigations - Hope Island Station

The Cross River Rail Delivery Authority is continuing with planning for three new rail stations on the Gold Coast Line at Pimpama, Hope Island and Merrimac. GHDWoodhead has been engaged to undertake early investigations and prepare the detailed design for construction.

Early investigations are scheduled to commence in January 2021 and will continue throughout 2021. Investigations will include geotechnical works, survey, utility identification and environmental studies including heritage, flora and fauna.

These investigations will be used to further refine the station designs. Further community consultation on the station design will be undertaken in 2021.

Early investigations

Early investigations at the Hope Island station site are planned to commence in early January 2021 and will involve:

  • Geotechnical investigations using a truck-mounted drill rig.
  • Survey and identification of existing utility services using a vacuum

The investigations will take place adjacent to the existing rail corridor and within Mangrove Jack Park, located off Hope Island Road.

What to expect

Residents will notice an increase in workers and vehicles in the area. We appreciate your patience while we undertake these works. Standard work times are 6:30am to 6:30pm Monday to Saturday, however work may occur outside of these hours due to traffic permits and safety requirements.
