World-first construction method bringing Cross River Rail underground stations to life

With a massive scale of works never before seen in Queensland, Cross River Rail has championed a number of innovative construction methods to bring the project to life.

One of Cross River Rail’s most impressive engineering feats is the world-first method used to install the mezzanine levels at our underground stations.

These installations involve placing massive concrete beams – each weighing up to 70 tonnes – in the underground stations with millimetre accuracy.
