Woolloongabba and Boggo Road update

Cross River Rail’s massive four-hectare Woolloongabba site is a hive of activity, with two roadheaders excavating the station cavern in preparation for the arrival of two huge Tunnel Boring Machines.

Excavation and stress anchoring works within the station box has continued, with controlled blasting of the excavation area underway to help break through the strong Brisbane Tuff and Neranleigh Fernvale rock on site.

Meanwhile, large scale excavation works are ongoing at the Boggo Road site, which was declared a Priority Development Area in early October.

We will keep the public informed as work progresses and of any impacts on roads, footpaths and public transport services near these key worksites before they occur.
