Extended track closures this Easter

Cross River Rail will transform the way we travel across the whole South East Queensland, but to build it we need to undertake extensive construction works, which will impact train services for six days over Easter.

Extended track closures will take place from Good Friday (April 2) until Easter Monday (April 5) affecting all lines, mainly through the inner suburbs.

Additional works will impact the Gold Coast and Beenleigh line services over the following two days from Tuesday, 6 April and Wednesday, 7 April.

The extended closures are scheduled for the traditionally quieter Easter and April school holidays period to minimise disruptions.

Works to be undertaken during the closures include track removal and installing new track, piling, overhead wire work, water and sewer works, service relocation, and signal testing.

Cross River Rail has been working closely with Translink and Queensland Rail to ensure commuters have advance notice and alternative transport options are in place.

Buses will replace trains on all impacted commuter lines and staff will be available at key locations to assist.

Alternative transport options will be outlined closer to the track closures. Please keep checking back in the lead up to the closure by visiting the Translink website, downloading the My TransLink app or call 13 12 30.
