Expressions of Interest released for Landcentre Building Demolition

Cross River Rail Delivery Authority has invited construction companies to submit Expressions of Interest (EOI) for the demolition of the Landcentre building at Woolloongabba.

This follows the successful demolition of the adjacent Goprint building completed in February this year (see time-lapse footage below) and scope may be extended to also include the demolition of the vacant South Brisbane Dental Hospital.

Works are expected to start in July 2018, once the Landcentre building is fully vacated and a Principal Contractor appointed.

Once the Woolloongabba site is fully cleared, the area between Vulture Street and Stanley Street, directly adjacent to the Busway and across from The Gabba, will become the staging area for the Tunnel Boring Machines (TBMs) and Roadheaders.

After these TBMs have completed drilling the twin tunnels, the site will become the location of the new underground Woolloongabba station.

You can find out more about the EOI here.
