Exhibition platform makes way for new station

A new upgraded Exhibition station is a step closer with the demolition of the existing station’s Platform 3.

The demolition works over the past two weekends will allow upgrade works to commence in coming months.

Other works taking place on site have included relocation of public utilities, continuation of rock cutting activities, preparation for piling works, ongoing installation of mast foundations, cable routes and pits within the rail corridor, and surveying and investigating underground services.

The new Exhibition station will provide rail services all year round for one of Brisbane’s fastest growing suburbs.

More than 9000 people per weekday are expected to use the new station by 2036.
