Project Update

After a two-year pandemic-induced hiatus, the Ekka is back, and with it the Cross River Rail stand.

The Mobile Education Centre will be open from 9am till 5:30pm for the entirety of the show, from Saturday 6 August to Sunday 14 August.

The stand will have plenty to do for people of all ages, from the “Build Your Own Tunnel Boring Machine” activity to Cross River Rail’s signature virtual reality future stations experience.

The Cross River Rail stall will be set up near the permanent Queensland Rail exhibit.
 

Those travelling to the Ekka by train will notice the significant process made on the future year-round Exhibition station being delivered as part of Cross River Rail, including tracks laid on the new 150-metre-long rail bridge.

Although the area around the station will look different to previous years, there will be plenty of signage available to show how to get to and from the Ekka easily.
