Environmental Management

Outline Environmental Management Plan

The Cross River Rail Outline Environmental Management Plan (OEMP) provides the overarching framework for the project’s environmental management requirements.

It identifies each environmental element potentially impacted during the project works and nominates the required performance criteria and outcomes to be achieved to ensure environmental impacts are minimised. The OEMP also nominates key monitoring and reporting requirements to be delivered throughout the life of the project.

In accordance with Appendix 2, Part A, Condition 2 of the Coordinator-General’s change report, the OEMP is to be finalised and submitted to the Coordinator-General for approval two months prior to the commencement of Project Works. The OEMP was approved 18 December 2018.

Temporary Coach Terminal Construction Environmental Management Plan

The Brisbane Transit Centre will be demolished to make way for Cross River Rail’s new underground Roma Street Station.

The Brisbane Coach Terminal which is currently located in the Brisbane Transit Centre, will be relocated to a temporary facility for a period of 5-10 years, adjacent to Platform 10 on the northern side of the existing Roma Street station.

The Construction Environmental Management Plan outlines the potential environmental impacts and the associated management measures that will be used by the Delivery Authority and its contractors to mitigate and minimise these impacts.
