Woolloongabba precinct traffic changes until mid-2026
As part of essential utility and service work required for the new Woolloongabba station, intermittent traffic and pedestrian changes will continue on Main, Leopard and Stanley streets until mid-2026.
Work details
- Installing site fencing, hoarding and road safety barriers for lane and footpath closures
- Utility and service work which may include the use of machinery including excavators, concrete saws, generators, light vehicles, lighting units, ventilation fans and hands tools
- Kerb installation and footpath and road reinstatement.
Traffic and pedestrian changes
- Intermittent lane closures on sections of Leopard, Stanley and Main streets
- Footpath closures on sections of Leopard, Stanley and Main streets
- Traffic control and detours will be in place to support motorists, pedestrians and cyclists, with vehicle access maintained in both directions
- Access to residential properties and businesses will be maintained at all times
- Closures will not occur during major events.

Work hours
Construction activities and associated closures will occur during both day and night shifts (24/7).
Work is subject to relevant approvals and suitable weather conditions.
What to expect
- Temporary vehicle and pedestrian detours
- Increased truck movements and traffic control on Main Street, Stanley Street and Leopard Street
- Increase in noise, vibration and dust associated with work
- Increase in construction workers.
