UPDATE: Planned track closures extended
Due to protected industrial action over the Easter long weekend, the current scheduled track closures need to be extended until Thursday 30 April.
The extension will allow critical works on multiple major rail projects to be undertaken safely and efficiently.
Different lines will be impacted at different times throughout April, so please consider your transport options, plan ahead and allow extra travel time.
Rail replacement buses will operate during the closure to keep people moving.

The updated dates of the track closures are:
- Caboolture to Gympie North – will now continue for one extra day, reopening on 13 April.
- Bowen Hills to Eagle Junction and Northgate - will now continue for four extra days, reopening on 16 April.
- Boggo Road to Banoon – will now continue for four extra days, reopening on 1 May.

Building you a better rail network
These works are part of a network-wide rail program including rail upgrades on the Sunshine Coast,the new underground line through Brisbane, new digital signalling and the Logan and Gold Coast Faster Rail project.
Works across multiple rail projects have been scheduled together during April which include major bridge works, significant track removal and realignment, installation of signalling and cable infrastructure, large-scale drainage as well as building and upgrading train stations.
