Road and car park closure – Royal Parade East, Banyo

Hitachi Rail is continuing construction work along the Shorncliffe Line to deliver Brisbane’s new railway signalling system as part of the Cross River Rail Project.

Details of work

Service investigation to prepare for the installation of cabling will be undertaken on Saturday 25 September and Sunday 26 September near Banyo station.

What to expect

The level crossing at Royal Parade East, Banyo will be closed to traffic between 8.00pm Saturday 25 and 4.30am Sunday 26 September, and between 8.00pm Sunday 26 and 4.30am Monday 27 September. The car park at Royal Parade East will also be closed at times during the works, as per the map below.

Please see local signage for car park closure times.

Various detours will be available for motorists. Please allow more time for travel during these works and follow the instruction of traffic control.

What to expect if you live alongside the rail corridor

Residents along the rail corridor may see and hear dust and noise associated with the use of machinery and equipment (including drilling machines, excavators, concrete trucks, and vacuum trucks), and mobile lighting towers in work areas during night works.

To minimise impacts: environmental controls will manage noise and dust (including noise minimisation practices after hours), lighting towers will be directed away from residential properties, wherever practical.

What to expect if you’re a rail customer

To undertake this work safely, some track closures will be necessary. Plan your journey by using the the links below:
