Roma Street – Utility works and temporary bus stop changes
From Sunday 16 November 2025 for up to two weeks, work to construct stormwater infrastructure near the Services building will be carried out.
This will require eastbound lane closures on Roma Street and temporary closures of the on-street bus stops between 9pm and 5am each night.
Work details
- This work will include installation of stormwater infrastructure including pipes, manholes and gully pits on the eastbound lanes of Roma Street
- Due to traffic requirements, construction will take place outside of standard construction hours
- This work will require temporary partial lane closures on Roma Street
- Pedestrian access to Roma Street station will be maintained. Motorists and pedestrians are advised to allow extra travel time and follow all directions of traffic control.
Public transport changes
Between 9pm and 5am each night, Roma Street Stop 125 at Roma Street station ( Stop ID: 000125) will be temporarily closed.
Buses will stop at North Quay Stop 106 near Herschel Street (Stop ID: 000106).

On-road work and public transport changes will occur between 9pm and 5am each night.
Work is subject to relevant approvals and suitable weather conditions.
What to expect
- The use of equipment including road saws and jackhammers, vacuum excavation trucks, asphalting work, generators, lighting tower and hand tools
- Increased noise, dust and vibration. Every effort will be made to keep disruption to a minimum
- Increased deliveries, movement of plant, machinery and equipment
- Increase in personnel carrying out the work.
