Roma Street – temporary eastbound lane and footpath changes

Work details

• Construction of a new footpath on the northern side of Roma Street between Parkland Boulevard and George Street.
• Implementing traffic control arrangements.
• Installing temporary fencing and road barriers to safely establish the work area.
• Footpath pavement removal and concrete pours to reinstate the footpath.
• The use of equipment including road saws and jackhammers, vacuum excavation trucks, concrete trucks, lighting towers and hand tools
• Works to be undertaken in both day and night shifts.

Traffic and pedestrian changes

• Closure of one eastbound lane on Roma Street with vehicle access through the area maintained.
• Roma Street northern footpath temporarily closed between Parkland Boulevard and George Street.
• Pedestrian and cyclist access between Parkland Boulevard and George Street will be detoured via the Roma Street southern footpath.

Work hours

Construction activities and the associated footpath closure will occur during day and night shift (24/7).

Work is subject to relevant approvals and suitable weather conditions.

What to expect

• Use of equipment including road saws and jackhammers, vacuum excavation trucks, generators, lighting towers and hand tools
• Increased noise, dust, light and vibration. Every effort will be made to keep disruption to a minimum
• Increased deliveries, movement of plant, machinery and equipment
• Increase in personnel carrying out work.
• Adjustments to pedestrian and cycle paths in the area.
• Every effort will be made to keep disruption to a minimum.
