Herschel Street traffic changes

From early August 2024 site establishment works will start on traffic and pedestrian changes in the Roma Street Precinct.

Traffic and pedestrian arrangements at the intersection of Roma, Herschel and George streets will be undertaken in stages. Works will include the closure of Herschel Street to vehicles between George and Roma streets, adjusting signalised intersections, footpaths, cycle infrastructure and landscaping works (please refer to map overleaf). The first activity will involve establishing the site around the existing traffic Island.

During construction works, access will be maintained for pedestrians and cyclists from Herschel to Roma streets, commuters entering and exiting Roma Street station and the Inner Northern Busway platform 1.
