Boggo Road concrete slab removal
From late July to October 2026, works will be undertaken to remove temporary concrete slabs within the southern area of the Boggo Road station construction site, between Railway Terrace and Joe Baker Street. Removal of the concrete slabs is required to progress works within the station precinct.
Work details
- Removal of the concrete slabs and foundations, using concrete saws, excavators with hammer attachments and handheld jackhammers.
- Broken concrete will be loaded onto trucks and removed from site for disposal.
- Truck movements throughout the day and night to remove materials from the worksite.
Reducing impact during removal works
During concrete removal, every effort will be made to minimise the impacts on businesses, residents and commuters. Mitigation measures include:
- Majority of concrete demolition work to occur between 6:30am and 6:30pm.
- Use of water trucks and other on-site suppression devices including hoses and/or misting.
- Dedicated road sweepers to perform routine and additional cleaning when required on-site.

Work hours
Work will be undertaken during the day and at night, seven days a week.
Concrete demolition activities using excavators, jackhammers and concrete saws will be prioritised to occur between 6:30am and 6:30pm, however some activities may occur throughout the night until 6:30am.
All work is subject to relevant approvals and suitable weather conditions.
What to expect
- Increased noise, vibration and dust associated with the use of heavy machinery and equipment including, but not limited to, excavators, jackhammers, concrete saws, grinders and hand tools.
- An increase in construction workers and vehicle movements in and out of the area.
- Further concrete removal will continue across the Boggo Road station precinct throughout 2026. Further notification will be provided ahead of these works.
