Mary Street long-term traffic changes

From October 2024 until late 2025, traffic changes on Mary Street near the main station entrance site (Lot 1) boundary will be required to continue construction of the new Albert Street station.

Traffic changes will involve:

  • Closure of the eastbound lane of Mary Street adjacent to the Lot 1 construction site. There will be no access for vehicles travelling eastbound past the work area.
  • Access to the westbound lane of Mary Street will be maintained and there will be no changes to bus services on Mary Street.
  • Closure of the footpath on northern side of Mary Street adjacent to the Lot 1 construction site. Pedestrians will be diverted to the southern footpath.
  • Access to properties on Mary Street will be maintained, including Mantra on Mary.
  • Traffic control will be in place to assist motorists and

To implement these traffic changes, work will include:

  • Temporary traffic control
  • Changes to line marking on Mary Street
  • Removal of the Mary Street pedestrian gantry.
