Old Queensland Rail shelter – Rebuild update

In April 2024, a replica shelter was rebuilt using salvaged materials from the original shelter and reinstated back at Rocklea station near platform 1.

The replica was rebuilt by participants as part of a Constructionarium Australia program which provides young professionals with an opportunity to gain hands-on experience working on a real construction project.

See below for an image of the replica shelter at Rocklea station. Now situated at the station, final finishing works will be undertaken to complete the rebuild process.

The Rocklea station shelter was rebuilt and reinstated at the station during April.
