Woolloongabba station construction update - June and July 2025
Work inside the Woolloongabba station building is progressing with tiling and permanent lighting installation underway on the platform level. This marks an important step in the internal fit out of the station platform with some sections of the platform already complete.
Within the station precinct, earthworks and structural works are underway to construct a new road and covered pedestrian walkway adjacent to the station and current busway station. This will provide an undercover area for the public to wait to be picked up and dropped off at the new Woolloongabba station precinct.
What to expect during construction
- Continuing underground and surface works including outside standard hours
- Out-of-hours surface works including hammering, water blasting, steel cutting, drainage works and concrete pumping
- Potential noise, dust and vibration from construction activities underground in the tunnels and on the surface, including outside of standard construction hours
- Temporary lighting for out-of-hours works in the station box, decline ramp and busway work area
- Out-of-hours deliveries of large trucks and plant. This includes mobilisation, set up and demobilisation
- Ongoing intermittent lane, road and footpath detours and closures at Leopard, Main, and Gibbon streets, and other surrounding streets where required.
