Intersection works - Albert and Charlotte streets - November 2025
From November 2025, for approximately one month, utility works will take place at the Albert and Charlotte street intersection to prepare for upcoming Green Spine upgrades.
Work details
Work will involve service investigation and utility relocation, and installation of new kerb/pram ramps at the Charlotte Street intersection with Albert Street.
- Site establishment and implementing traffic control arrangements, lane closures and pedestrian detour
- Removing of existing road surface using excavators, jackhammers and vacuum excavators
- Modification to traffic signals
- Relocation and reinstatement of site fencing to delineate works area
- Installation of temporary signage.
Work hours
Work will take place at night 6:30pm-6:30am due to required traffic permits. Work is subject to relevant approvals and conditions.
In the event of wet weather or unforeseen circumstances, this work may be rescheduled.
What to expect
- Use of machinery including vacuum excavation trucks, road saws, generators, compressors, excavators, haulage vehicles, lighting units and hand tools
- Increase in noise, dust, vibration and worksite lighting
- Increase in construction workers
- Increased truck movements and traffic control on the Charlotte Street at the Albert Street intersection

Traffic and pedestrain impacts
- Lanes closures on Charlotte Street between 6:30pm and 6:30am
- Access to properties will be maintained under traffic control.
Future construction activities
Following the completion of these activities, further work will be required to reconstruct the road and complete asphalting activities.
