Main Street – temporary footpath and lane closure

Construction activities

• Installing traffic management including traffic barriers and detour directional signage
• Site investigation to confirm the location of current underground services
• Excavation and construction of new permanent service lines and new service pits
• Realigning existing service lines
• Kerb installation and footpath reinstatement

Construction activities are subject to weather, unforeseeable conditions and approvals.

What to expect

• Day and night work involving excavation and construction of new underground service lines and pits
• Use of equipment such as excavators, generators, light vehicles, lighting units, vac trucks, ventilation fans, concrete trucks and hand tools
• You may experience increased noise, lighting, and increase in workforce outside the station site.

Traffic and pedestrian impacts

• The western footpath and adjacent traffic lane on Main Street between Vulture and Stanley streets will be temporarily closed
• Pedestrians will be directed to use the eastern footpath of Main Street
• Vehicles traffic will be maintained in both directions
• During these traffic changes, detours and traffic control will be in place to assist motorists, pedestrians and cyclists
• Access to properties and businesses will be maintained at all times
• Footpath and lane closures will not occur during events at the Gabba.
