Salisbury station update
Project Updates
11 Aug 2025
Our re-build of Salisbury station reached a key milestone this month, with all major structural and architectural works now complete.
It’s one of seven southside stations that are being rebuilt by the Cross River Rail Delivery Authority between Dutton Park and Salisbury, to make each station more modern and to improve accessibility.
New features will include a new third platform, new overpasses, passenger lifts, accessible parking bays, new kiss’n’ride spaces, platform improvements and bike enclosures.
As you can see from the pictures below, it is easy to imagine what the station will look like once complete now that the core structure is in place and with structural steel, glazing and canopy roofing all fully installed.
Recent track closures also allowed crews to install the rubber fingers on the platform edge that will make it easier to get on and off the train and remove temporary construction elements like safety panelling. But there’s still work to be done.
Fit out is continuing in the station buildings, pedestrian overpass and the platform canopies, with four new passenger lifts soon to be installed.
Following construction, everything in the newly rebuilt station then needs to be tested and commissioned before it can open to passengers. This work ranges from ensuring signalling equipment works correctly to testing the passenger lifts.
