Extended: Albert Street night-time footpath closures - April 2025

From Tuesday, 22 April, for approximately one week, there will be nightly footpath closures in front of the northern station entrance (Lot 3) between 6:30 PM and 6:30 AM. These closures are necessary to finalize the painting of the station’s canopy roof.

Work Details:

  • Traffic Control: Implementing traffic control arrangements to establish a safe work area and pedestrian detour.
  • Equipment Used: Machinery and equipment including, paint sprayer, generators, lighting units, elevated work platforms (EWP), and hand tools to paint the station’s canopy.

Work hours

Work will be undertaken between 6:30pm and 6:30am. Work is subject to relevant approvals and suitable weather conditions.

In the event of wet weather, this work will be rescheduled to the week commencing Monday 28 April 2025. Work is being carried out at night to minimise impact of local businesses in this high foot traffic area.

Traffic and pedestrian impacts

  • Nightly closures of the Albert Street footpath in front of Lot 3 site, please refer to map above
  • During this work, pedestrians will be detoured via the footpath on the opposite side of Albert Street
  • Access to properties will be maintained throughout the work, and traffic control will be in place to assist
  • Additional short-term footpath closures may be required intermittently at other times during the day while other overhead lift works or deliveries are occurring.

What to Expect:

  • Temporary pedestrian detours.
  • Increase in odour, noise, and lighting.
  • Increase in personnel carrying out the works.
  • Encapsulation: During the painting, the work area will be encapsulated to mitigate any fumes or odour from the works.
