Albert Street night-time footpath closures - May 2025

From Monday 12 May through to mid 2025, the footpath in front of the northern station entrance (Lot 3) will be intermittently closed at night between 6:30pm and 6:30am. These closures are required to carry out steel and façade installation on the canopy roof.

Work details

Work will involve:

  • Implementing traffic control arrangements to establish a safe work area and pedestrian detour.
  • Use of machinery and equipment including franna cranes, generators, lighting units, elevated work platforms and hand tools to install the façade.

Work hours

Work will be undertaken between 6:30pm and 6:30am (Monday to Saturday) and is expected to be complete in late June 2025. Work is subject to relevant approvals and suitable weather conditions. In the event of unsuitable conditions, work will be undertaken on the next available night.

Traffic and pedestrian impacts

  • Intermittent night closures of the Albert Street footpath in front of Lot 3 site, please refer to map above.
  • During this work, pedestrians will be detoured to the footpath on the opposite side of Albert Street.
  • Access to properties will be maintained throughout the work, and traffic control will be in place to assist.
  • Additional short-term footpath closures may be required intermittently at other times during the day while other overhead lift works or deliveries are occurring.

What to expect:

  • Intermittent and temporary pedestrian detours.
  • Increase in potential noise and worksite lighting.
  • Increase in personnel carrying out works.
