Transforming travel - Albert Street
As the first CBD train station built in more than 120 years, Albert Street station will dramatically improve connectivity to the southern part of the CBD.
The station entrance at the corner of Albert and Mary Streets will serve major destinations such as the City Botanic Gardens, QUT’s Gardens Point campus, the parliamentary precinct, the new Queen’s Wharf integrated resort, and an upgraded Eagle Street business district. The station’s northern entrance between Charlotte and Elizabeth Streets will provide direct access to the Queen Street Mall.
In addition to generating potential commercial development opportunities, the new Albert Street station will connect visitors and workers from the southern end of the CBD to places of Business, entertainment, and recreation.
By train, Albert Street will be less than 3 minutes to Roma Street and will be just 3 minutes from Woolloongabba.
The deepest of the Cross River Rail stations, Albert Street will be 31 metres below the street surface. Escalators and lifts will connect over 67,000 passengers per weekday from the 220-metre-long platforms to the street level.
