Shorncliffe Line: after hours system testing

Details of testing

The next stage of system testing will be carried out in late November to early December between Bindha and Shorncliffe stations.

To ensure safety, this must be completed when revenue service trains are not running as per the schedule below.

From Banyo to Shorncliffe and between 10:00pm and 5:00am on Monday 28 and Tuesday 29 November, the following works will occur:

• System testing
• Personnel will be in and around signalling huts at Shorncliffe, Sandgate, Deagon, Nudgee and Banyo. Only and tools will be used.

From Bindha to Boondall and between 10:00pm and 5:00am Wednesday 30 November and Thursday 1 December, the following works will occur:

• System testing
• A test train will operate between Bindha and Boondall stations each evening. Traffic control will be in place at the Nudgee pedestrian crossing (city side of Nudgee station) during this time. All other crossings will operate as usual.

What to expect if you live alongside the rail corridor

Residents may see work teams and hear noise associated with the testing (e.g personnel and light vehicles). On nights the test train is operating, residents may see and hear trains outside normal operating hours.

Over the four-night testing period this will include:

• Personnel in and around signalling huts between Banyo and Shorncliffe.

On Wednesday 30 November and Thursday 1 December this will include:

• A test train running between Bindha and Boondall. Approximately four runs (2 x ‘up and back’)
• Generators at radio mast sites at North Boondall, Nudgee and Northgate stations
• For safety, horns are required to be sounded on approach to St Vincents Road Level Crossing, Banyo and Nudgee station pedestrian crossing in both directions

All staff will be fully briefed about their community responsibilities in relation to minimising noise and disruption after hours, and environmental controls put in place wherever practical.
