Albert Street Station

The Albert Street station will provide rail services to the southern end of Brisbane’s CBD for the first time, connecting passengers with key areas of employment, study and recreation.

Albert Street will be the first CBD train station built in Brisbane for more than 120 years.

Following the announcement of the preferred bidder for our Tunnel, Stations and Development contract, we’re now able to reveal the latest concept designs for our new stations.


Station overview

A 220m underground platform will improve access on a daily basis to QUT Gardens Point campus, Queen Street Mall, Botanic Gardens and the new Queen’s Wharf Brisbane integrated resort.

The deepest of the Cross River Rail stations, Albert Street’s platform will be set approximately 31 metres below the street surface, with escalators and lifts connecting passengers to the station’s exits.

On average 67,260 people will use Albert Street station each week day, by 2036.
