Asphalt repair works – Pimpama station

Construction of the new Pimpama station access road is being undertaken as an early works package. The works commenced in late-2021 and includes a new signalised intersection at Bedford Road and Old Pacific Highway, access road into the site, associated drainage works and connecting pedestrian and cycle pathways.

Details of works

On Monday 20 and Tuesday 21 June 2022, asphalt works will be undertaken to repair several areas along Old Pacific Highway between Pimpama Jacobs Well Road and Mebbin Street, weather permitting. If works are delayed for any reason, works will occur on the next business day.

For information regarding these changes, please see the map below.

What to expect

There will be changed traffic conditions including reduced speed limits, road barriers and signage. Traffic controllers will also be in place to manage the flow of traffic.

Single lane traffic flow will be implemented temporarily throughout both days to allow works to be undertaken safely.

Road users may experience minor delays during these works and are reminded to drive to changed traffic conditions, observe construction signage and follow the directions of traffic controllers.

During these works, residents may experience an increase in noise, dust and an increase of workers, vehicles and mobile equipment in the area, including a small profiler and paver truck.

Driveway access for residents along Old Pacific Highway will be maintained during these works.

Work hours

Works will be undertaken between 6.30am until 6.30pm Monday to Saturday. Asphalt repair works and truck movements will be reduced during peak hour periods to minimise impacts to motorists.
